World Water Day 2024

  Water can create peace or spark conflict. When water is scarce or polluted, or when people have unequal, or no access, tensions can rise between communities and countries. More than 3 billion people worldwide depend on water that crosses national borders. Yet, only 24 countries have cooperation agreements for all their shared water. As climate change impacts increase, and populations grow, there is an urgent need, within and between countries, to unite around protecting and conserving our most precious resource. Public health and prosperity, food and energy systems, economic productivity and environmental integrity all rely on a well-functioning and equitably managed water cycle. The theme of World Water Day 2024 is ‘Water for Peace’. IWD2024 The  world celebrates Women across the Globe today, March 8. Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #InspireInclusion. Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness about discrimination. Take action to drive gender parity. IWD belongs to everyone, everywhere. Inclusion means all IWD action is valid. June 12- International Day Against Child Labour

This year's global theme is "Protect children from child labour now more than ever". In Ghana, the theme has been domesticated as: "Intensify action against child labour. Do it now! Do it fast!" M arked annually on June 12 th  t he International Labour Organization established World Day Against Child Labour, which is  a holiday instituted by the United Nations  to  bring attention to the plight of child labourers around the world, and the need for a concerted effort to end all forms of child labour. Since 2002, the International Labour Organization (I.L.O.) has urged the world community to take immediate and effective actions to abolish and prohibit the use of child labor in any form. For the I.L.O. to meet its goal of eliminating child labor by 2025, much work has to be done. World Environment Day focuses on beating plastic pollution

World Environment Day Every year World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5.  This year the theme is #BeatPlasticPollution. The day is hosted by Côte d'Ivoire and supported by the Netherlands. The 2023 World Environment Day campaign #BeatPlasticPollution calls for global solutions to combat plastic pollution.
