Beating Plastic pollution; our part at Shared Space

No to Plastic  In line with World Environment Day, which focuses on beating plastic pollution this year, Shared Space shared this sentiment and created painting canvases by recycling cardboard and bin bags for aprons in their first Sip and Paint event in 2023. Landfill-biodegradable aprons can be recycled or disposed of in the general rubbish bin. Once disposed of the landfill, biodegradation is accelerated approximately 90%+ faster than conventional plastic aprons, producing organic matter (a natural fertilizer) and no microplastics. We at the shared space will encourage all and sundry to get involved in beating plastic pollution by recycling. Enjoy some photos from the process.

Effects of screen time on early childhood development...

The "'Back to your village' Food Bazaar" Experience

As part of celebrating Ghana's Heritage month which is the month of March, we at Shared Space took a trip to the  Citi FM “Back to Your Village Food Bazaar”. The program was held at the forecourt of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly and showcased indigenous Ghanaian dishes like Omo tuo, Banku, Tuo Zaafi, Kokonte, Ampesie, among others. On 25th March 2023, we had the opportunity of tasting some delicious local foods and snacks from across Ghana including 'apaparansa', waakye, plantain, coconut crunch, peanut crunch.   This trip was taken by some children and adults from the Shared Space and the children learnt a lot about a wide range of Ghanaian meals and their preparation, while enjoying live performances of Ghanaian music. Below are written experiences by the children.
